Wow, sorry it’s been a while since I posted. Life lately has been just crazy. Final year of uni has hit me hard. It feels good to say it’s my final year though…4 years just feels like a lifetime when you’re doing something you don’t enjoy. I’m enjoying my work a little more this year though as I’m working on my protein company and a recipe book to go alongside it so it feels like I’m doing something productive (and not fashion based, yes!) as it will be there for me to continue after uni. So yeah, if you’ve seen me posting on Instagram pictures of protein stuff like theseeee…
….and everyone is like ‘recipeeeee’, you’re all just gonna have to wait for the book!
Time is definitely flying which is scary but great too. I seriously cannot wait to get my degree and finish now. Looking back I can’t even believe it’s been over 3 years since I started. I was very much still entrenched in my illness then and I would never in a million years thought I would be here today, at a healthy weight, a healthy relationship with food, lifting weights?! Scary looking back and how things have changed from year to year, how I’ve changed physically and mentally, friends have come and drifted away, new people are in my life and I realised that my passion was in having a business along the way, and I’m sure there will be big changes again in the next year.
Anyway, enough of the babbling I thought I’d share just a few of my loves lately…
2 favourite bars right now, hands down are Pulsin’s new vanilla choc chip bar and of course Quest white choc raspberry which I rave about all the time haha. You must try them. Too good.
Protein fluff. I’m not gonna lie. I’ve had this everyday for over 2 weeks now and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. Jut the volume it makes AHH. SO AMAZING. For those of you who don’t know about protein fluff, it is basically frozen fruit, whey protein and milk hand blended down, then whisked up into this fluffy moussey amazingness. Plenty of recipes around for different variations, check out Protein Pow and the likes. I make mine with frozen blueberries, Jammie Dodger whey from Go Nutrition (yum!) and coconut milk. And before you ask, it only works with whey, so if you’re dairy free, sorry….you’re missing out just a little
Next up is this new nut butter from Whole Earth combining my three all time favourite nut butters into one; cashew, peanut and hazelnut. Oh god. I actually just spoon this out of the jar it is so good. I have a serious problem not eating it all…so creamy and yum. Highly highly recommend!
Next up. A few things I bought to cheer myself up when I was ill. Dried mulberries – ultimate favourite dried fruit and I’m so glad they’re in Tesco now! Squash…no words needed. This new chocolate syrup that is made from Sweet Freedom, the same company that does agave. It’s made from fruit syrups and carob and is lush. It can make hot chocolate, but you can squirt it over yogurt and oats too. Yum. And finally CoYo. I must admit, the first time I tried CoYo yogurt I was not much of a fan. But they’ve brought out new flavours since and they’re so lovely. Big fan of coconut and all the healthy fat benefits it brings.
Recently I decided to bring some raw foods back. Raw food will always be a part of my diet but things like maca and mesquite I’ve brought back which kinda faded away. I used to love making mesquite muffins with coconut oil and I’m addicted once again. Can’t go wrong with raw foods for all the health benefits as well as amazing taste they have <3
And finally, my little loves. These two boys are the new kittens of the family. I hate being a student and not being able to have pets in the apartment I live in but soon I will woop! So adorable <3
