Wowza, how is already Friday again?! This week has flown by! And another hot one again eh? I am seriously just melting away slowly over here. Such a British person, I really am I’ve been doing my best to cool off with lots of ice and smoothies recently. It’s been ages since I had smoothies regularly. I don’t know why but I just prefer eating solid food over mushed up food But they have been hitting the spot as a little snack anyway. I just keep them as simple protein smoothies with fruit and chocolate Sunwarrior with some ice and coconut milk. Perfecto
I also took a little trip to Tea Sutra in town. If you haven’t been there and live in Newcastle or nearby I recommend it. It’s like a little haven in there! I’m not a big fan of tea if I’m honest but an iced tea always goes down well. They have a huge menu of all kinds of teas, as well as vegan food if you go for lunch or want a slice of cake or something All of their teas are available iced – so cool! I’ve had their marzipan one before and it’s definitely my fave so far but I like to switch it up sometimes.
Yesterday I had this iced guava sencha green tea which was so refreshing! Marzipan is still the way to go though!
I’ve also been obsessed with these yogurt bowls for the past week now. Greek yogurt, frozen blueberries, coconut and cocoa nibs for a crunch. The flavours go so well together and a nice chilled snack too
Now whilst my snacks/baking are always adventurous. You know what? I really am lazy when it comes to meals and just end up throwing together simple ingredients. I never considered myself a meat, veg and potato girl but it is exactly what I am now.
Ahhhh well. Tastes good anyway
Workouts this week have been fabbb. Well I say fab, painful too! I’ve just started a new programme as I didn’t really have one before, I was just kinda doing my own thing. But now that I’m getting stronger it’s time to push things and start seeing a bit of progress. I’m doing a set up of two ‘strong’ days with a lot of power moves and then 3 days of hypertrophy (speed work with more reps) and it’s been fun actually! I now do 2 leg days (I love to hate leg days so I only did one before..) and gawddd, I had serious DOMs in my calves after Tuesday after having a bit of a push from a personal trainer, and I am still in a lot of pain today when I had to do another leg workout! No pain, no gain though as they say
How has your week been?
