Sick Week and Protein Experiments
Hey guys!
How are you all doing? I’ve had a bit of a knock down week this week. On Saturday night I had a little accident after some drunken dude knocked me to the floor and I ended up passing out and then on Sunday I woke up and had food poisoning from some mouldy tofu (I am not one to waste out of date things and it didn’t taste that bad!) so I spent Sunday literally in bed all day and didn’t even see daylight. Monday I felt better but all week I’ve just been feeling a little ‘off’ and then on Thursday I felt really sick and by Thursday night I was vomiting, had an upset tummy and stomach cramps and was freezing cold. And since then I have been in bed again! So that is my explanation for my little disappearance this time
However sort of in between being really ill I have been doing a lot of experiments with protein powders for little snacks here and there.
Chocolate almond hemp protein balls
My faves! Marzipan protein balls <3
Coconut lemon protein balls
These are just some..I’m actually getting pretty good at them if I say so myself to I may just save the recipes and think about selling them one day….
And today I decided to get myself out of bed and at a time when I felt I wouldn’t require the bathroom for at least 15 minutes to distract myself and make one of Protein Pow‘s recipes. I have been a big fan of Anna’s blog for some time but have never made anything for some reason! Well today was the day! Her latest recipe had caught my eye as it had pea protein, coconut flour and gojis in and I love all of these and had all of them so it was just meant to be
I changed her bars into mini muffins because I do love a good muffin and adapted her recipe slightly as she used vanilla pea protein which is only available in the US, so I used unflavoured protein and added vanilla extract and stevia. I love the colour that are from the gojis and they smell so gooood! Anyway, I’ve just topped these with a bit of raw chocolate and put them in the freezer because my stomach can’t really manage much except a little dry and crunchy food right now
And speaking of dry and crunchy, on the love list this week:
Ohhhhh it’s been too long!!! My fave snack ever ever. So bloody expensive though when they last like a nanosecond! But I decided to treat myself to a few tubs to cheer me up and they certainly do the trick
Right, I’m off (um I’m going nowhere from this bed..) to continue reading this book and writing my essay…
It’s as exciting as it sounds. NAAAT.
Recommend any recipes with protein for me to try?
What are your fave snacks?
