Distracted

Ahhhh it does feel good to have no stress in my life right now. Oh except the two sketchbooks I have to fill of course…which I did start this week, see proof!

Okay so that lasted for 4 pages before I got distracted by food followed by reading blogs followed by reading my book (yes, 50 Shades of Grey which is proving to be very popular amongst us women right now…they are good though, I’m on the third, and I have no shame in saying I do love a good bit of literary porn every now and then :P ).

My current love is these gluten free protein pretzels by Kay’s Naturals that I treated myself to! I mean, cinnamon toast?! Come onnn…they. are. good.

And when I’m really trying to distract myself from doing anymore, I color co-ordinate my food. Now, that is boredom for you.

I also had a little venture out to the big tesco with determination to buy myself lots of yummy things, which of course I did, along with keeping an eye out for some Almond Breeze which has finally come to the UK! And it tastes goood…well worth the trip :)

Another little obsession of mine at the moment is these vanilla dessert shakes from Tesco in the FreeFrom section…except I turn them into ice lollies. Remember how I had that vegan froyo from TuttiFrutti? Well this tastes exactly like it but in lolly form! So yeah, when you buy them, freeze them – even though it says on the packing ‘do not freeze’ (who goes by the rules of freezing anyway?!). I promise you will love them :)

And with more time on my hands, as I said before, I’m also getting more into weights and BodyPUMP along with my cardio. I don’t plan on getting ‘massive’ as my brother calls it but a few muscles and a toned definition would be nice…So I’ve started taking this L-Carnitine stuff (in liquid form as I try to avoid tablets whenever possible) which is basically an amino acid, therefore the building blocks of a protein, in order to help with my muscle recovery after doing my weights because basically I’m a big girl and get sore after weights and BodyPUMP so this is to kinda help.

And finally, my need to distract myself from work and shopping has reached a level I never thought it could. I bought a used bike for £50 from this recycled bike place round the corner from me. Now, I hate bikes in the gym. I will only use them if I’m really desperate for some cardio and my legs are sore or I have achilles tendonitis (frequently..). But I thought hey, maybe if I rode outside I might like it more. I gave it a little go yesterday for a 45 minute ride and god, my butt hurt. It was fun though. But please remind me to never wear that pink vest top I posted before that I normally wear to the gym and I recommend to you guys to never wear a top like that if you’re riding a bike either. You will give men an eyeful for free of boobage okay?! I was wondering why I was getting so many looks from guys as I passed by, only to look down and realise that yes, when you’re on a bike you’re leaning down a bit more than usual. Fortunately mine are small enough to stay in place ;)

I have to laugh at myself sometimes! :)

What do you do to avoid work or something you should be doing?

Long time reader, not sure if I have commented before, if I did it was a while back!

I will try your tip about freezing those vanilla dessert shakes, that sounds like a good idea!

I recognize that bottle ; ) (I work part time in Holland and Barrett ha!) Love the bike and I hope you have lots of fun riding it around (shame about weather being all over the place in the UK at the mo though)

  3. So good to see you update! Love your bike chicka! It is so good to get out when its not raining especially if like me you can’t drive anywhere.

I shall have to take a trip to tescos ASAP!

  4. I’m on the third 50 shades of grey as well – almost finished! It’s so addictive :D

  5. Got to try freezing those tesco desserts now! That sounds so tasty. Love your illustrations. When I was at uni I used to love fashion illustration I still have loads of books on it!

  6. I need to try those cinnamon pretzels and frozen desserts! Blogging and (shamefully) reading the celeb gossip on the Daily Mail are my biggest distractions. I’ve just started 50 Shades of Grey, can already see it being an addictive read. x

  7. I love the idea of freezing those shakes! and I want those pretzels, where did you find them? x

  8. Such a cute bike, i’m the same way – i won’t ever touch the bike in the gym but i love it as transportation (but we all bike in holland!)
