Foodie Penpal Swap for May

Hey lovies,

So it is the end of the month again which means it’s time for Carol Anne’s foodie penpal reveal. This month I received my package from the lovely Julia who had the challenge of accommodating my dietary needs which is not an easy one for people who don’t eat vegan and gluten free because I can appreciate how difficult it is after struggling to get the hang of it myself for a while!

My package was absolutely amazing and definitely made up for my lack of parcel that went missing(??) last month!

I loved everything so much and Julia did such an amazing job of finding things that I would love whilst being able to eat too!! She even managed to get me a couple of new goodies that I haven’t tried which is a rare thing! :) I had of course tried the Nakd Cocoa Orange before as this is my fave Nakd bar!! Yum!

She got me these really yummy dehydrated carrot sticks (which were SO good) and dehydrated kiwi chips. These were perfect because I’m really missing my dehydrator!

I also got some sugar coated fennel seeds which Julia explained that she’d got in an international store – my current fave place to shop!! I wasn’t sure if I’d like these as I don’t like licorice but these were actually really good and addictive! Julia also said that they’re supposed to be good if you take them after a meal to help digestion…any excuse to eat more I say!

I also received some wasabi wheatgrass kale chips which are the only flavor I haven’t tried as I’m not too keen on wasabi but these were actually really good and join the rest of the amazingness of the inSpiral kale chip flavors…they’re my current addiction!!

Julia also very kindly baked me some gluten free vegan ginger spice cookies. And what a guess that they’re my fave kind of cookie?! It also turned out to be quite a good task for Julia as her blog ‘Something Missing‘ is about making things with certain ingredients missing – in this case wheat, gluten, eggs and dairy! And she proved to be incredible at it. I’m not kidding when I say that these are the best gluten free vegan cookies I have ever had. They were soft but didn’t crumble everywhere and just the right amount of ginger and sweetness.

So all in all, thankyou so so much!! <3

Yay I’m soooo glad you liked the package and that I managed to find a few things that you hadn’t tried before! I’ll be posting the spiced biscuit recipe on my blog soon as well so you’ll be able to re-create these…I obviously lucked out on you liking ginger biscuits (but they are one of my favourites too!)

  4. What a great parcel, looks like you got a lovely mix of things!
